Initially, he planned to build a treehouse for his children. However, concerns about safety led him to consider another option. One example highlighted in the segment was the miniature Emporium building, which stood approximately ten and a half feet tall while maintaining proportions closely matching the original structure inside Disneyland.

He explained that the process allowed him to better understand his thoughts and feelings while focusing on creative, hands on work.

During a visit, Walt Disney’s daughter reportedly remarked that her father would have fallen in love with the creation. For Sherman, whose project was inspired by one of America’s most beloved landmarks, the comment stood as a powerful affirmation of his effort and craftsmanship.
