Brigitte Poublon Carries Forward Bobby Sherman’s Lasting Legacy of Service and Compassion

Brigitte Poublon became widely known in July 2011 when she married Bobby Sherman, the beloved 1960s singer who later devoted his life to public service. While their marriage introduced her to a broader audience, Poublon had already built a successful career in event planning and fundraising in Los Angeles. Together, the couple transformed that experience into a mission dedicated to improving the lives of children in need.

In 2011, they established the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children’s Foundation in Ada, Ghana. The organization combines academic support, daily nutritious meals, and music education to help children build brighter futures. Over the years, the foundation has provided nearly one million meals and covered hundreds of school fees, reflecting the couple’s shared commitment to education and opportunity.

Although Brigitte and Bobby Sherman did not have children together, she warmly embraced his family from his first marriage to Patricia Carnell. His sons, Christopher Noel, born in 1972, and Tyler Carnell, born in 1974, became an important part of her life. Christopher works in digital media and is the father of three children, while Tyler owns a construction company in Oregon and also has three children. Bobby treasured his role as a grandfather, and his six grandchildren affectionately called him Papa. Brigitte has frequently included their extended family in fundraising efforts supporting the foundation’s humanitarian mission.

The final chapter of Bobby Sherman’s remarkable life began in March 2024 when he publicly revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer. After a courageous fifteen month battle, he passed away at his home in Encino, California, on June 24, 2025, at the age of eighty one. Brigitte Poublon remained by his side, holding his hand during his final moments.

In a joint Instagram statement shared through family friend John Stamos, Poublon described her husband as a man whose greatest achievements extended far beyond his years of musical fame. She honored his dedication as an emergency medical technician and reserve police officer, emphasizing that his life became defined by service to others.

Today, Brigitte Poublon continues to lead the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children’s Foundation as its president and public representative. She has pledged to expand scholarships and nutrition programs through the resources left behind by her late husband. She often recalls one lesson Bobby Sherman shared with her throughout their years together. Fame may fade, but helping others endures. Through her unwavering dedication, she continues to preserve the humanitarian legacy that Bobby Sherman valued above all else, ensuring that his compassion continues to inspire hope and transform lives for generations to come.
