A TRIBUTE TO EMMYLOU HARRIS: WHEN MUSIC BECOMES LEGACY
On October 2, 2025, at The Masonic in San Francisco, audiences will witness a truly special event: A Tribute to Emmylou Harris & 25 Years of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. This is not only a night honoring a legendary artist, but also a testament to the enduring vitality of American folk and country music.
Emmylou Harris, with her moonlit silver hair and a voice as gentle as a lullaby, has been present at every Hardly Strictly Bluegrass since its very first year. She is not just a familiar face, but the musical soul of the festival. That is why, as she turns 78, Harris is being honored with a dedicated tribute night – a moment her fans have long awaited.
The stage will shine with an illustrious lineup of guest artists: Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, Patty Griffin, Margo Price, Allison Russell… All will join their voices in timeless songs such as Boulder to Birmingham, If I Needed You, and Luxury Liner. The musical director is none other than Buddy Miller – Harris’s longtime friend and collaborator.
What makes the evening even more meaningful is its charitable purpose: all proceeds will go to Bonaparte’s Retreat, the dog rescue organization Harris founded in 2004. From music to everyday life, she continues to carry the same compassionate heart, devoted to both people and the smallest living beings.
For music lovers, this is not only a chance to relive golden moments, but also to realize that Emmylou Harris’s legacy never stops – it flows on in the voices of generations of artists who follow.
